Riyak Iman is an exceptional fashion designer known for her innovative approach to style and her ability to empower individuals through fashion. Recently, she had the honor of designing a stunning gown for zainab Alema, a trailblazing Muslim rugby player dedicated to shattering stereotypes in the sport. Zainab made a striking entrance at the World Rugby U20 Championship 2024 semi-final game, showcasing not only her athletic prowess but also the artistry of Riyak Iman's creations. Together, they embody a powerful message of confidence and inclusivity, proving that fashion and sports can unite to inspire change.
Heritage
The Heritage collection was launched in the winter of 2019, drawing inspiration from the traditional Somali Dirac—a culturally significant and comfortable garment worn by Somali women. Designed with both relaxation and warmth in mind, this collection features a blend of two-piece garments and dress-like blankets, perfect for lounging during the colder months. Crafted from 100% organic cotton and produced in the UK, the collection gained significant popularity, especially during the weeks following its release in March 2020 and throughout the lockdown period. While the collection has now sold out, we welcome inquiries for special requests and preorders via email.

Designer Riyak Iman had the distinct privilege of touring with one of the most prominent artists in the Somali community, Kiin Jamca, and had the honor of styling her Performance as well as one of her music videos.

A Designer's Mission to Inspire Somaliland’s Youth:

The Future:
This project is a testament to the power of community and economic contribution, with a special focus on the future of Hargeisa. In 2021, the designer dedicated six months of her life to working in Somaliland, driven by a strong desire to give back to her hometown.
The mission was simple yet profound: create opportunities for the younger generation and inspire them to think beyond traditional boundaries.
For Miss Iman, the key to wealth and progress lies in innovation and creativity. She strongly believes that these qualities are the engines of economic growth and development. Motivated by this vision, she was determined to manufacture a collection locally, in a bid to inspire her community and showcase the potential that exists within their own borders.
In a country where 78% of the population lives below the poverty line, surviving on less than $1.90 a day, the impact of this project was even more significant. Understanding the challenges her people face, Miss Iman chose to distribute a portion of the collection to the needy, providing much-needed support to the locals as a charitable gesture.
This act was not just about fashion; it was about sowing seeds of hope and demonstrating that even in the face of adversity, creativity and compassion can build a brighter future.
Through her efforts, Miss Iman has shown that empowering the next generation through creativity and innovation is not just an ideal — it’s a powerful catalyst for change.

01. MENTAL
The story of this brand is one of resilience, self-discovery, and a bold rejection of the traditional fashion industry mold. Born out of personal challenges such as dyslexia, BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder), and a dash of ADHD, the designer struggled to find a place within an industry that often values conformity over creativity. But instead of letting these obstacles define her, she used them as fuel to forge her own path
02. HEALTH
She firmly believes that while our conditions don’t determine our destiny, the environment we’re in can significantly impact our growth and experiences. The designer envisioned a world where people are judged not by their labels, diagnoses, or limitations, but by their creations, talents, and unique perspectives. For her, it's our differences that truly make us special.
03. Advocate
With no formal experience in the fashion industry, Miss Iman set out to create her own seat at the table. She started with a simple yet powerful idea: jumpers adorned with positive, empowering slogans. But what truly set her designs apart was the branding—intentionally placed upside down. This wasn’t just a design choice; it was a statement. The inverted text symbolized a fresh perspective and a challenge to conventional thinking, perfectly reflecting the brand's ethos of celebrating individuality and cultural richness.
